 Background

Autodesk Navisworks supports viewing Bentley AutoPLANT objects. However there are some commons issues that many AutoPLANT users encounter that can be corrected using the following solutions. If the follow does not correct the issues with Autodesk Navisworks please contact Autodesk technical support.

Common Issues

Navisworks does display AutoPLANT objects correctly

Object enablers

AutoPLANT object enablers are required to view AutoPLANT objects in Navisworks if AutoPLANT is not installed on the same computer with Navisworks.

The AutoPLANT V8i object enablers can be downloaded using the following steps:


1. Follow this link
2. Log into Bentely.com when prompted
3. Change "Product:" to AutoPLANT
4. Change "Category:" to Free Updates/Utilities
5. Change "Files Posted within last:" to All
6. Search
7. Download, Bentley AutoPLANT Object Enabler AutoPLANT AutoPLANT V8i

Navisworks displays AutoPLANT objects as wireframe

If the AutoPLANT objects are visible but are showing as wireframe the shade mode must be changed from Automatic to shaded.

Navisworks does not display AutoPLANT objects

Navisworks has an option to view DWG drawings using a file reader mode which opens the file as if it was an older version of AutoCAD. If a newer version of the AutoPLANT object enabler is installed and the file reader is set to read as an older version of AutoCAD Navisworks will not use the object enabler. Set the file reader version to a newer version of AutoCAD to use the object enabler.
