How to Add Weld Tag as FW/FFW on Isometrics weld in OpenPlant Isometrics Manager

Overview

To Label Weld tags as FW/FFW using User Labels in OpenPlant Isometrics Manager. 

Problem Description

In Isometrics different weld types are used to understand what exact weld type would be applicable to get specific tagging on it. Following steps will aid user to add weld tag for "field weld" (FW) or "Field Fit Weld" (FFW) to show it on isometrics. This could be realized using both AutoPLANT Modeler and OpenPlant Modeler user with OpenPlant Isometrics Manager. Check below steps described using AutoPLANT Modeler and OpenPlant Isometrics Manager.

          

Steps to Resolve

Case #1 - With AutoPLANT Modeler

  1. Open Project Administrator and select working Project.

  2. Click on Settings button under OpenPlant Isometrics tab, Click on Isometrics Styles button.



  3. Select desired Isometrics Style. and select User Labels section, Create new User Label by adding following text.



  4. New User label will get created.



  5. Generate isometric to review the result.



    Note: similarly we can define new label for other weld types field fit weld, Tack Field Weld. etc.

    If requirement have to show FIELD  as FW and FIELD_FIT as FFW  in isometric following additional steps need follow
  6. Open Class Editor
  7. Navigate to project path and open OpenPlant_3D.01.08.ecschema.xml
  8. And supplement with OpenPlant_3D_Supplemental_Isometrics_Isoextractor.01.08.ecschema.xml
  9. Go to Value map section search for Weld Types.
  10. Change property name FIELD_FIT to FFW and FIELD WELD to FW

Case #2 - With OpenPlant Modeler

  1. Launch OpenPlant Isometrics Manager.

  2. Open Isometric Configuration dialog.

  3. Under "Isometrics Style" Tab click on User labels, 

  4. Create new User Label by adding following text.



  5. Generate isometric to review the result.



    Note: similarly we can define new label for other weld types field fit weld, Tack Field Weld. etc.
