Background

Normally, any loose component changes to field because it does not need to work in shop. However, you can control this separately for pipes and fittings by modifying below settings from style.cfg. This will work with both AutoPLANT Modeler & OpenPlant Isometrics Manager & OpenPlant Modeler & OpenPlant Isometrics Manager.

Steps to Accomplish

  1. For OpenPlant Modeler - OpenPlant Isometrics Manager
    1. Launch OpenPlant Isometrics Manager. Select Project unit, say Imperial here.
    2. Click on Configuration to launch ‘Isometric Configuration’ dialog box.
    3. From Advanced option, click on "Explore style".

Note - From working project you can manually navigate to style.cfg file. See below default path for reference
      C:\ProgramData\Bentley\OpenPlantModeler V8i\WorkSpace\Projects\OPModeler_Imperial\DataSet\Isometrics\Styles\IFC\Config

  2. For AutoPLANT Modeler - OpenPlant Isometrics Manager
    1. Open Project Administrator select the working project and click Create/Modify button

    2. From Advanced option, click on "Explore style".

Note - From working project you can manually navigate to style.cfg file. See below default path for reference
      C:\ProgramData\Bentley\Plant V8i\Bentley Plant V8i Projects\SAMPLE_IMPERIAL\Config\OpenPlant\Isometrics\styles\IFC\config

  3. Open style.cfg file and search "IE_LooseFittingToField" variable in this file.
  4. Check for default fitting settings as IE_LooseFittingToField = 1. This will enable any loose field fitting to appear in field material under BOM.
  5. Ensure the variable to be set as "1" to appear in BOM under Field Category.
  6. Save the changes and Generate the Isometrics & verify Results. Notice below image the elbow comes under field material.

Check Another Case

When Field Fit weld has been assigned to particular set of flange or in any case the weld has been categorized to Field, it produces different Part ID under field Material. See image below:

To consolidate the material as one quantity, you need to set the variable present in Style.cfg file as IE_LooseFittingToField = 0.  (Use same steps as discussed above).
