How to Create i-model from Inside AutoPLANT

    Applies To: AutoPLANT
    Product(s): AutoPLANT I-Model Composer
    Version(s): 10.XX.XX.XXX
    Environment:

    Windows 10 (64 bit)

    Area:  i-Model
    Subarea:
Original Author: Devendra Warke, Bentley Product Advantage Group

    Background

It is possible to generate I-model from inside AutoPLANT. The I-model generated can be used for data transfer according to user requirements. This feature from inside AutoPLANT helps you quickly create the I-models from one interface.

Prerequisite: AutoPLANT I-model composer installed on the machine.

    Steps to Accomplish

    1. From AutoPLANT Modeler load Import/Export menu
    2. Go to Import/Export-->Plant Exchange-->i-model

    3. In the Publish I-model dialog select appropriate options and click on Publish I-Model

Case 1 : i-Model for Review ,Markup, Visualization and Clash Detection.

The option of “For Review, Markup, Visualization, Clash Detection” is used whenever the i-models are to be used for reviewing the 3D model , markups for revisions or modification to be done in the model, visualization and conduction of clash detection for the models.

      Case 2 : i-Model for Interoperability.

The option of “For Interoperability” is used whenever the i-models are to be used for interoperability operations for generation of Orthographic Drawings.

      Functionality of Other Options:

Data from Model - Gets values from the Model

Data from project database - Gets values from the project database if available. This takes significantly more time but is needed if the data in the project database is changed independently of the model.

Create fasteners - Adds fasteners to the i-model. This is recommended for interoperability.

Force republishing of all files - When enabled, this option forces the master file and its reference files to be republished, even if they have not been modified since the last time they were published. By default, this option is disabled and a file is not republished if it has not been modified. (The date of the file(s) are checked.)

This option is useful in cases where the original files have not been modified, but configuration files or project databases that affect the published file have.

Create a package-  Creates a single package for multiple i.DGN files. You need to select this option to enable the rest of the controls in this dialog. When a package is created, it will generate i.DGN files for the active drawing and all referenced drawings

Package - Sets the name of the packaged file and saves the file with an i.DGN extension.

Click the magnifying glass icon to open the Browse for Folder dialog to select a folder location for the output file.

Protection- Sets the type of protection for the packaged file.

      • Everyone - allows you to create a packaged file that does not require a password or certificate but does have restrictions based on the operations selected in the Rights section.
      • Password - Select to use password protection. (The password must consist of at least 5 characters.)
      • Certificate - Click the Magnifying glass or the File button to specify a certificate or certificate file

Rights- Sets the privileges for the packaged file.

      • View - The option is checked, and the field disabled by default. It enables you to view the file.
      • Edit - The option is disabled by default. You cannot edit a packaged file.
      • Export - Enables you to use Copy to Clipboard, Save As, Export, File Fence, and similar commands.
      • Print - Enables you to print the file.

Expires- Choose an expiration date to completely lock the file after a certain date, regardless of the rights or protection. Click the Choose Expiration Date icon to open the calendar. After you select a date, click anywhere outside the calendar to close it.

    4. You will see a confirmation dialog once the I-model is published.
