Background

In OpenPlant Modeler, there are many components that doesn't have dedicated icon for its placement but spec database have records for them. In some case, tool icon as well as spec records are present but are unable to place the components. This is due to missing mapping of spec table name. Below article explains how to fix such type of issues.

Angle Check Valve

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Launch class editor and load OpenPlant_3D.01.07.ecschema.
  2. Supplement it with OpenPlant_3D_Supplemental_Modeling.01.07.ecschema.
For More information on supplementing schema click here>>>>

  3. Go to ANGLE_VALVE class and copy the value defined in Table field of OpenPlant_Physical_Catalogue_Class_Map custom attribute as shown below:

Note: This step is required because ANGLE_CHECK_VALVE has it's own mapping custom attribute and there only VALVE table is mapped but you may add this component in any of the above given tables.

  4. Navigate to Angle Check Valve class, scroll down to OpenPlant_Physical_Catalogue_Class_Map custom attribute, enter the copied Table records as shown below.

  5. Save all the changes & verify the result.
  6. Launch OPM and open a model.
  7. Create a pipeline with 200mm Diameter and mEX-OPM spec.
  8. Place a pipe and flange on it's end.
  9. Go to Utilities>Key In and key-in the command
    mechaddin place ANGLE_CHECK_VALVE dsc=piping

Bellows/Expansion Joint

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Repeat step 1 to 2 of above case
  2. Navigate to Bellows class, scroll down to OpenPlant_Physical_Catalogue_Class_Map custom attributes & add MISC_FIT as shown below.

Now OpenPlant Modeler search bellows records from FLGJOINT as well as from MISC_FIT table of spec database.
  3. Save all changes & verify result.
