    Background

While importing or exporting the STP file below error is displayed in OpenPlant Modeler.

This error is appearing because it is not able to find the path of the rose database as you can see below variable MS_ROSEDB is not defined in the configuration.

    Steps to Resolve

    1. Open the model in any project in OpenPlant Modeler.
    2. Go to Workspace>Configuration and locate MS_ROSEDB variable.

    3. Select the variable and click Edit button.

    4. Add below value in the New Value field and click OK.

      $(MS_DATA)\rose\database

    5. Save the changes.

    6. Restart OpenPlant Modeler and see below on verifying the results.

    Verify the Result

    1. Place few equipment in the model.

    2. Select the components in the DGN file.

    3. Go to File>Export>Step AP203/214.

    4. Set the path where you want to export the STP file and fill in the details (optional).

    5. Click Export button.

    6. Once the stp file is exported, we will import the same file into new file in OpenPlant Modeler.

    7. Create a new file in OpenPlant Modeler.

    8. Go to File>Import>Step AP203/214 and select the STP file which we exported in above steps.

    9. Click Import in below dialog.

    10. Components will be imported into OpenPlant Modeler.
