To Trim Piping BOM Reports Template Fields in OpenPlant Modeler

Overview

In OpenPlant Modeler, to Customize BOM reports template as per requirement by user.

Problem Description

User requirement was cut short several unnecessary field in BOM template.



Using Sort column option will not getting saved for particular template when user tries to open reports for the next mode of operation. Thus, resulting to extra time for trimming the fields again and again. Below exercise will aid user to customize the fields and save it for next event. 

Steps to Resolve

  1. Launch OpenPlant Modeler, Select Project unit. Say Metric here.

  2. Go to OpenPlant Modeler>Tools>Item Reports.



  3. From Piping>Piping Component, select BOM type BOM by Line Number. 

  4. Right click on it, Select ‘Edit’. 



  5. Click on browse option for Querying. 



  6. From Query Dialog, Select “Multiple Types of Items”, say Piping Component & Reducing Piping Tee. 





  7. Click on Property icon, to check list of common properties for selected class.



  8. Click on Clear All option first. Select desired field to show it in Grid Report. 



  9. Once selected the list, click on “Save” to create a template in xml file to refer it next time while generating reports. 



  10. (Optional) again click on Query to check if include sub items button remain unselected. See image below. This should remain selected. 



  11. Click on ok and generate Report. Verify Results.



  12. Also for multiple selections few desired properties will not show under this common properties list. In that case user need to copy those properties to other class as well, in schema through class editor. Click here>>> for more infromation.
