Overview

In OpenPlant Modeler, to assign Shop or Field Value for Multiple Components.

Problem Description

User requirement was to assign Shop or Field value while placing components in model. Also it has been required to assign values for existing components in the model, whose values are missing. Below steps has been described to achieve above requirements in one way. However there could be other way to model the components based on Shop or Field value i.e. assigning the value through spec and get the desired data. User may refer this in other wiki links discussed later on it.

Steps to Resolve

For New Items:

  1. Launch OpenPlant Modeler, Select Project unit. Say Metric here.

  2. From Piping Tab, Select a pipe and place it. From Placement dialog, check Operating Condition tab where “Shop Field” property is present. Set value as “Field” from drop down box. See image below.

For Existing items:

  1. For existing items, you can select the components through item tree browser and highlight to verify and do the save. See below image.

  2. User can also modify the Shop or Field value using grid details by selecting list of desired components like shown in below image.

  3. Modifying the value by right clicking on cells to edit. User can select multiple items and click on “Edit”.

  4. Change the value from “Shop” to “Field”.

  5. Changed values will be shown with an icon suggesting to “Save” the changed values.

  6. Right click again on selected item and hit “Save”. See image below.
