Background

This article will explain how the properties can be moved to another category using class editor tool. In this article, we will take DEVICE_TYPE_CODE property on STRAINER class as an example. this property is on general category by default as shown below.

Steps to Follow

1. Open class editor and load OpenPlant_3D schema.
   
   
2. Supplement it with OpenPlant_3D_Supplemental_Modeling & OpenPlant_3D_Supplemental_ModelingViews schemas.
   
   
3. Go to STRAINER class and locate the DEVICE_TYPE_CODE property.
   
   
   
   
4. Override the property by clicking Override button on the right side.
   
   
   
   
5. Add Category custom attribute on the property.
   
   
   
   
6. Change the location to OpenPlant_3D_Supplemental_ModelingViews schema.
   
   
   
   
7. Add the values in Category custom attributes as shown below.
   
   
   
   
8. Save the changes and re-open the DGN file in OpenPlant Modeler.
   
   
9. Select the Strainer and check the property in element Info dialog.
