Background

In OpenPlant Modeler, we can place a weld in a pipe one by one manually but in this article we will discuss how this can be achieved with one command if we want to place welds in a straight piece of pipe at equal distance. For this article we will place a 6m long straight pipe and cut it at every 1m distance.

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Launch OpenPlant Modeler in any project.

  2. Create a pipeline and place a straight piece of pipe in the model, say 6m long.

  3. Select the Break Component command from PIPING task.

  4. Select the Standard mode from the options in below dialog and set the distance as 1000mm in the text box.

  5. Select the end of the pipe.

  6. Pipe will be cut at every 1000mm interval.

Weld is placed automatically at every joint in the pipe.
