How to Save & Load the Query from Item Browser

      Applies To

      Product(s): OpenPlant Modeler
      Version(s): 08.11.09.XXX
      Environment:  Windows 7 (64 bit)
      Area:  Tasks
      Subarea:
Original Author: Harpreet Singh, Bentley Product Advantage Group

    Background

In file based systems, sometimes we have to run same query in different models but we don't want to generate the new query each time we open the same model or different model. This can be achieved by saving the query locally or in managed workspace which can be loaded in any model later on.

    Steps to Accomplish

    1. Load query tool from Item Browser.

    2. Generate a query and click Save button.

    3. Select 'No Wizard' from the dialog and click OK, if you are working in managed environment.

    4. Select the folder where you want this query to be stored.

    5. Name the query and click SAVE button.

    6. Query is saved in the selected folder as you can see below.

    7. Open the file and load query tool in item browser.

    8. Click Open button to load saved query.

    9. Query loads in the dialog.

    10. See the result.
