Problem Description

User complained that when branching off a pipe from small segment of header OpenPlant can't place the Olet/Tee instead it tries to place the elbow. As shown in below picture program is trying to place an elbow on 200mm piece of 100mm header pipe when user tries to branch off from it.

Reason

If length of header pipe is less than minimum length required i.e. twice the O.D of header pipe then it doesn't place the olet or tee on the header. So if we take header of 100 mm as an example whose O.D. is 114.3mm.

As per 2 x O.D. formula it needs more than 228.6mm length of pipe to place Tee or Olet.

Steps to Resolve

  1. Place a 228.7mm length of pipe (100mm Dia) in the model.

  2. Change the size of Active pipeline in Standard Preference dialog to 25mm.

  3. Turn Auto-Branch option ON in the preference dialog.

  4. Place the pipe on the header, it will automatically place the olet as well as thredolet on the header.
