Problem Description

For Plant applications to install and sync with ProjectWise has always required the ProjectWise client applications to be installed first. That is before any Bentley plant application is installed on the workstation. However, as installations are not always perfect.  

• What would happen if ProjectWise didn't get installed on the workstation and then the Plant applications were installed?
• What would happen if the ProjectWise client install was corrupt?

In the past the users would have to uninstall all Bentley Plant applications and ProjectWise (if corrupt).

Steps to Resolve

A new tool has been created that when ran installs the ProjectWise files that are required.  This prevents the users from the need to totally uninstalling all Bentley Plant applications and ProjectWise and starting again from new.  This tools will save time in this situation.  Once the tool is ran and the files are installed the only requirement is that the Bentley Plant applications and Bentley Plant Framework are repaired from the Setup.exe.  Please refer to the steps below for a complete description:

Finding and Installing the PWAPIntegration Tool.

1. After extracting the Plant Framework installation browse to its extraction location.  In this instance it will be C:\BENTLEYDOWNLOADS\ as shown below:
   
   
2. Find the PWAPIntegration folder as shown below:
   
   
   
   
3. In the PWAPIntegration folder right click on setup.exe and select Run as Administrator as shown below:
   
   
   
   REQUIREMENT: Repair all installed Bentley Plant Installations.
   
   
4. Once installed go back into the C:\BENTLEYDOWNLOADS and run the setup.exe again on each Bentley Plant Application as shown below:
   
   
   
   
5. For each application run the setup and select the Repair option.  This will make the connection for that application and the new ProjectWise files created.
