Overview
In OpenPlant Isometrics Manager, to Display UNIT information for Support in BOM
Problem Description
In OpenPlant Isometrics Manager, using OpenPlant Modeler, user wanted to concatenate a property with multiple attribute. During the process UNIT attribute does not appears in Bill of Material report. Below steps will aid user to get the desired information.
Steps to Resolve
This could be done in Two Major steps:
A. To Define a New Property in Schema
B. To Define attribute in report definition file.
To Define a New Property in Schema
- In class editor, open “OpenPlant_3D.01.06.ecschema.xml” & supplement it with below schema.
“OpenPlant_3D_Supplemental_Modeling.01.06.ecschema.xml”
“OpenPlant_3D_Supplemental_Isometrics_Isoextractor.01.06.ecschema”
- Add Custom Attribute “Default Bill of Material Labels” to Support class.
- To override this custom attribute, user need to copy the custom attribute from existing class and paste it on Support class.
- Go To PLANT_BASE_OBJECT class.
- Right click on it and copy the custom attribute. See image below.
- Navigate to SUPPORT class and paste on it. See image below.
- This will enable this custom attribute, ready for adding new attributes.
- Right click on “Other attributes” option to add new element. See image below.
- Add name & value to new field like shown below.
Name – IE_UNIT
Value - this.GetRelatedInstance("DEVICE_HAS_SUPPORT:1:PIPING_COMPONENT").UNIT
- Save & Close Schema.
To Define a New Property in Schema
- Launch OpenPlant Isometrics Manager.
- Open “Isometric Configuration” dialog.
- From “Advanced” Node, click on “Open Report Definition” file for working style.
- Modify report for Support. Below one sample for clarification.
- Add multiple attribute and fixed Text to concatenate in a property and to show it in BOM.
Note – Any attribute should be defined as per attribute name or attribute present in component tag dialog. Fixed text should be in “ “ & separated with a + sign
- Save & Close file.
- Generate Isometrics drawing and verify results. See image below.
