    Displaying raceway covers

      Product(s): Bentley Raceway and Cable Management
      Version(s): through 08.11.09.35
      Environment: N/A
      Area: Dataset
      Subarea: N/A

    How to show covers on cable trays and cable ladders when the raceway is inserted on the DGN file?

    Background

    Raceway covers are included in BOQ reports if a cover is selected for the Cover Type UDA on Raceway Properties when routing the raceway with Raceway Router or Raceway Generator.

    However, by default the raceway is rendered on the DGN file without a cover. This article describes how to make raceways appear with a cover.

    Note:

    • Raceway covers will only display as solid, flat, non-flanged covers.
    • Covers may be more difficult to see when using the Wireframe display style. Try using Filled Hidden Line, Smooth, or other display styles.

    Steps to Accomplish

    When creating a raceway catalog

    1. Select BRCM Setup > Raceway Catalog Creation.
    2. On the Fittings tab, select a fitting in the Selected fittings pane.

    3. In the Select parameter box, choose Cap Style.

    4. In the bottom pane, set the value in the Value column to 1.

    5. Repeat steps 2 - 4 for the remainder of the fittings.

    6. Configure other aspects of the catalog as desired, and click OK to create the catalog.

    If the catalog already exists

    1. In the raceway subfolder of the dataset folder, find the DNA_[catalog name]_[fitting name].xml files.
    2. Using a text editor such as Notepad, open one of these DNA files for a fitting that should display covers.

    3. Search the file for CapStyle.

    4. Change the DefaultValue value to 1:
          <V020>
            <Name>CapStyle</Name>
            <VariableType>int</VariableType>
            <DefaultValue>1</DefaultValue>
            <Unit>default</Unit>
            <Prompt>Cap style (0: no cap, 1: cap on top, 2: cap inside</Prompt>
          </V020>

    5. Save and close the file.

    6. Repeat steps 2 - 5 for the remainder of the DNA files for the catalog for fittings that should display covers.
