To Generate Output Drawing in OpenPlant Orthographics Manager

Background

OpenPlant Orthographics Manager’s main functionality is to generate output (General Arrangement Drawing) from a user defined view arrangement definition (VAD) file. User can easily generate output drawing by selecting view arrangement definition file.

Steps to Accomplish

1. Launch OpenPlant Orthographics Manager and select a project
   
   
   
   
2. Go to Drawing Generation – Generate
   
   
   
   
3. Generate interface includes “Input VAD (View Arrangement Data) Files” Output files options and Output (Hidden line and Dimension) Files information
   
   
   
   
4. “Select all” check box will select all Input VAD (View Arrangement Data) Files,
   
   
   
   
5. Select single or multiple VAD (View Arrangement Data) Files by checking the boxes against their name
   
   
   
   
6. Following are output drawing options available in OpenPlant Orthographics Manager,
   
   
   1. Clear intermediate files - Deletes the ancillary files that are created during the process of generating the output drawing(s). These files include the data used to generate the output drawings. If additional changes to the source files are made and updated output drawings generated, it may save time to keep and reuse these files.
   2. Do not add border - When enabled, the defined border file will not be included in the final output drawing.
   3. Hidden line drawings – It will create Hidden Line Drawing only without any annotation
   4. Dimension/Annotation drawing -  It will generate Output drawing with dimensions and annotations/tagging
      
      
7. Check both boxes for Hidden line drawings and Dimension/Annotation drawing and leave other two boxes unchecked
   
   
   
   
8. Press “Generate Drawings” after selecting View Arrangement Data file and output file options
   
   
   
   
9. Output file will be generated
   
   
   
   
10. Output file(s) will be listed in Output Files (Hidden and Anno/Dimension), you can select all output files by checking “Select all” box
    
    
    
    
11. Double click on any File name and it will be opened in CAD module
    
    
12. Go to Project Directory to confirm output files are placed correct (In the Project's Output directory, there are two default folders, Hidden and DimAnno, which the output drawings are saved to) i.e.
    “C:\ProgramData\Bentley\OrthographicsManager V8i\WorkSpace\Projects\[Projet Name]\output”
