How to debug core kernel functionality for the Instrumentation & Wiring application?

      Applies To

      Product(s): Instrumentation & Wiring
      Version(s): V8i
      Environment:  N\A
      Area:  Debugging
      Subarea:  Architecture/Framework

    FOR THE I&W APPLICATION

Follow the steps below to setup core executable debugging:

    1. Download the i&w.aplogn.xml file from the following location:

If the link above no longer works please contact support directly to receive the file.

    2. Place the i&w.aplogn.xml  in the same folder as i&w.exe (typically “C:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\Plant V8i\Bin\i&w.aplogn.xml”)
    3. Correct log file path if necessary (currently it’s “c:\tmp\iandw.log”), the folder should be accessible, so, for example, “Program Files” is NOT a good place. If you choose “c:\tmp”, please check that this folder exists.
    4. Run the Instrumentation & Wiring application.  The log generates per action in the application.
