Overview

To Check Fixing BOM column Text Wrapping issue.

Problem Description

With latest release of OpenPlant Isometrics Manager, it has been found that BOM column text started wrapping. This is mainly due to the width of the column assigned to report.def file. In previous version width of the column signifies character positions, whereas in SS6 refresh 2, width of the column represents the length in millimeters (MM). Below are the steps to resolve such issue when using older project report.def file format with latest version of OpenPlant Isometrics Manager.

OpenPlant Modeler-OpenPlant Isometrics Manager

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Launch OpenPlant Isometrics Manager. Select Project unit, say OPModeler_Metric here and click OK.
  2. Click on “Configuration” Icon to launch Isometric configuration dialog box.
  3. From Isometric configuration dialog, select Open Report Definition node.

  4. With existing data, column for IE_DESCRIPT was set to 60. See image below, & hence it was wrapping text.

  5. In isometric where BOM text got wrapped up, check size by drawing a line over text to verify the cause. In below image, length of first line in BOM is around 58 MM.

  6. Check second line size by drawing a line below text, which is around 15 MM.

  7. Hence in Report.def file column width should be more than 80 mm to accommodate the entire description in single line and avoid causing text wrap. See report.def file below.

  8. Generate Iso & verify results. See image below.

  9. Similarly check for other column width and for all report types present inside report.def file to get optimum results.
