In OpenPlant Isometrics Manager, Cut list in Multiple Columns.

Background

With latest release of OpenPlant Isometrics Manager, cut list report can overflow in multiple column. In previous version, cut list extends in one table only and hence reports a long vertical list which sometimes overlaps above SHOP/FIELD Reporting. See below cut list BOM when produced using previous version. There are total 11 pipe cut pieces.

Now user can reduce its entries from one column and display it in second column of table. See below settings to describe the situation.

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Launch OpenPlant Isometrics Manager. Select Project unit, say Metric here.

  2. Click on “Configuration” Icon to launch Isometric configuration dialog box.
  3. From Isometric configuration dialog, select “Advanced” node and click on “Open Report Definition” option.

  4. Go to Cut List report, add an entry as MAX-LINES = 5. Selecting 5 rows per table. See image below.

  5. Based on MAX-LINES entries in report, rest of the entries continues with an offset distance of sum of the width mentioned in cut list report. E.g. in above cut list report, mentioned in step 4, it is 67 (6+7+21+3+30 = 67mm). User need to set and adjust their length in seed file. This is easier for user to see what area would get covered during Isometric Output. See image below.

  6. User may also assign boundaries for this report type in seed file and hence get a good report. See image below.

    Note – For changing Partid to Numeric, click here>>>> to check.

See below example that illustrate how centralized border is created for cut list.

    1. Go to your seed file.
    2. Using element selection tool, select the lines & properties, do right click & select copy as shown below.

    3. Move upwards to a considerable height say 42 mm upwards as shown below.

    4. Similarly, copy another lines just above the previously placed copied lines & properties as shown below.

    5. Enter header name as CUT LIST, copy the existing properties & past it to 82 mm right as shown below.

    6. Extend lines up to newly created header of cut list as shown

    7. Once defined do save setting.Created header for cut list will look like as shown below.

    8. For exact width of property, modify column spacing of CUT report in your particular report definition file as shown below.

      REPORT = CUT
      INCLUDE = IE_TYPE=CT_PIPE|CT_BEND
      COLUMN = 8:C:CUTID
      COLUMN = 9:R:SIZE1
      COLUMN = 21:R:QUANTITY
      COLUMN = 3:R:
      COLUMN = 38:R:IE_DESCRIPT
      GROUP = CUTID
      SORT = CUTID
      NODE = 61
      MAX-LINES = 8
      END

    9. Save all the settings & create an isometric drawing to verify the results as shown below.
