How to Update Pipeline Tag Name After any Changes in Schema

    Applies To
    Product(s): OpenPlant Modeler
    Version(s): 08.11.09.XXX (SS5) | 08.11.11.XXX (SS6)
    Environment:  Windows 7/8.1/10 (64 bit)
    Area:  Properties - OpenPlant Modeler
    Subarea:
Original Author: Kestutis Mitkus, Bentley Product Advantage Group

    Background

User has started a project using the default Pipeline tag Name; unit-service-number-spec.

After a couple hundred lines are modeled they changed the Pipeline tag Name to nominal diameter-service-number-spec. Pipeline manager shows the new tags as they should be, but when they hover over the pipeline with mouse or opens Component information dialog, it shows the old tag with the unit number.

User requirement was to modify Pipeline tag Name and he achieved it with the help of this wiki article, but all remaining pipelines in Information dialog and while hovering over the pipeline with the mouse, still shows older Tag Name. Below provided information will help user to solve this issue and update existing Pipelines with all changes.

    Steps to Resolve

    1. Open Pipeline Manager and Select required Pipeline.

    2. Select to Update pipeline insulation.

    3. Click OK and accept with default 0 Thickness or with any other value.

    4. Pipeline will be updated with all existing data.
    5. Check pipeline tag Name.
