How to Change the Priority of Pipe run Breaks

    Applies To
    Product(s): OpenPlant PID
    Version(s): 08.11.10.XXX (SS5) | 08.11.11.XXX (SS6)
    Environment: Windows 7/8.1/10 (64 bit)
    Area: Customization
    Subarea:
Original Author: Kestutis Mitkus, Bentley Product Advantage Group

    Background

By default when two lines cross each other a gap is created on Vertical same level or Horizontal lover level class pipe runs.

In this case user wants to change the priority order of how pipe run breaks are placed and have pipe run breaks only on Vertical lines, no matter which class they are..

    Steps to Accomplish

In the PID.cfg as well as in the project PCF file there is a variable. This variable determines which line, vertical or horizontal breaks when the lines are of the SAME class.

    1. Open Projects *pcf file and change variable SCHEMATICS_JUMPER_SAME_CLASS_HORIZONTAL_PRIORITY value to 0

      SCHEMATICS_JUMPER_SAME_CLASS_HORIZONTAL_PRIORITY = 0

Open Your model and test changes.

After this small change OPPID will start placing breaks counter wise than before, but still Major piperuns will be not Gapped when those cross Minor piperuns.

When lines of DIFFERENT classes cross, the Custom Attribute “Jumper Mapping” located on the CLASS determines which line will break. A line that has the higher number for the priority will break when it crosses a line that has a lower priority value

    1. Open OpenPlant_PID.01.07.ecschema.xml in Class editor

    2. Supplement with OpenPlant_PID_Supplemental_Imperial.01.07.ecschema.

    3. Navigate to Major Pipeline class and check Jumper Mapping custom attribute

    4. If it is not added then just add this custom attribute and add PID_Jumper class name with Priority number higher than Minor Pipeline

    5. Open your model and test the changes.
