In this Wiki Article we will try to explain how to Add new columns which will be showing required information from database on existing Process Instrument List. Sometimes, when user generates a Data Manager Report there requirement is to have separate columns with information to which Equipment or Pipeline instrument it is connected. Currently in Process Instrument List we can see one column "PLANT CONNECTION" in which we can se all plant component type tags together.
In opened Access window we need to understand how this relationship between all tables is workingOn Bottom Table We can see that PLANT CONNECTION Column is displaying TAG_NO values from TAG_REG table.TAG_REG table contains various records and we can see from mapping, that the required records are filtered by using KEYTAG value, which is mapped with PLANT_KEY value from INSTR table.
Lets look to INSTR and TAG_REG tables and compare PLANT_KEY with KEYTAGNow we can see that TAG_REG KEYTAG are same like PLANT_KEYs in INSTR table and this explains how system knows which TAG_REG table record has Instrument tag.So in current situation PLANT_CONNECTION column is displaying all possible Instrument Tags from TAG_REG table.
Now we can create one column which will be displaying only PROCESS Line Instrument Tags - PROCESS_CONN and one more column which will show us only EQUIPMENT Instrument Tags - EQUIPMENT_CONN.
Right Click on Empty area and in opened dialog select EQUIPMENT, PROCESS and TAG_REG tables to add
Now map PLANT_KEY field with KEYTAG in PROCESS table and then KEYTAG from PROCESS table to KEYTAG in TAG_REG table.Do the same with EQUIP and TAG_REG_1
Double-click each arrow and select second option
Go to end of Table in bottom and select on new field to TAG_REG table and then TAG_NO field to be displayed. As well you can ad different Column name by adding "PROC_CONN:" at the beginning of Field name.Do the same with EQUIP and TAG_REG_1
Save all Settings & Close the dialog.
Now Move your new Columns from end of this list to the beginning, that we could see it on same place where PLANT CONNECTION column was. I have removed PLANT CONNECTION column, because same information will be displayed in new columns. Click OK and check all changes in Process Instrument List
Click OK and check all changes in Process Instrument List
