How to Create Welding Boss Component in OpenPlant Modeler

In OpenPlant Modeler, requirement is to create welding boss as an olet component

Background

Welding boss is used as an olet component for drain arrangements. In OpenPlant Modeler, by default no such component is present. This component can be created by using creation attribute of weldolet. Below wiki article explain the procedure to create welding boss in OpenPlant Modeler

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Launch Bentley Class Editor.
  2. Open OpenPlant_3D.01.07. ecschema of respective project from mentioned directory.



  3. Supplement with OpenPlant_3D_Supplemental_Modeling.01.07.ecschema & OpenPlant_3D_Supplemental_ModelingViews.01.07.ecschema.

  4. Navigate to Olet class, right click & select Add Derived Class Refer image below



  5. Enter class name details as shown in image below.



  6. Now, go to Weldolet class, right mouse & select Custom Attributes > Copy to perform copy of custom attributes.



  7. From Copy Custom Attributes window, select Creation Attribute & OpenPlant Physical Catalogue Class Map custom attribute.
  8. Using bottom/drop arrow add selected custom attributes to Copied Custom Attributes section & select Copy. Refer image below.



  9. Go to WELDING_BOSS class, right mouse & select Custom Attributes > Paste as shown in below image.



  10. Save all the schema changes.
  11. To place Welding Boss in OpenPlant Modeler, ensure that Welding Boss records are present in OLET table of your specification database.



  12. Verify placement of WELDING BOSS component using key-in as shown below.

    Key-in: mechaddin place WELDING_BOSS dsc=Piping
