    Overview

This TechNote goes over how to push Isogen files into ProjectWise using the Publish to Project tool in Project Administrator

    Publish to Project

Launch Project Administrator and open the Project that is integrated into ProjectWise.  Once this is done loading, go to the 'Isogen>Post Process' section.  There, one will locate the 'Output Format' seen below -

Check the 'Publish to Project' check box to enable it.  This will also allow the folder that the drawing files will be stored in to be selected by clicking the browser button.

Pressing the browsing button will display the ProjectWise folder selection dialog.  Just select the folder that the drawing files need to be placed into.

Once this is done, save the changes in Project Administrator.

As a side note, the options 'Over Write Existing Files' and 'Create new Versions of documents' will also be selectable once the Publish feature is active.  The Over Write option replaces the files in ProjectWise with a new one that would have the same name.  So, if you have two pipe lines that have the same values that would result in the same name using your current Isogen Naming Rules, then they can override one another.  The Create new versions option utilizes ProjectWise's versioning feature for documents.  It will not override the original file, but rather generate a new version whenever an iso is ran and has the same name as one of the existing ones.

    Viewing the Results

The results for this can be seen after an isogen file is ran.  Once this is done, look to the folder that was selected in Project Admin.  There one should see the isogen file.  Note that if one looks in the old location, such as Isogen\Final\Drawing\, the files will no longer be stored there.  One will see them there for a short time when running the iso, but they will be removed during the process of publishing them to ProjectWise.
