How To Change Attributes of Pipe Based on Component State Using Named Expression

Background

In OpenPlant Modeler, based on the Component State the user wants to change the color of the pipe.

There are three default component states in OpenPlant Modeler viz. Design, For Demolition and On Hold.

One can define a seperate set of symbology for every available Component State. The steps mentioned in this wiki article help us accomplish the same.

Steps to Accomplish

1. Launch OpenPlant Modeler.
   
   
   
   
2. In the Open file dialog, change the file format to dgnlib
   
   .
   
   
3. In the Project-->Dataset-->Dgnlibs folder launch OPmodeler.dgnlib file.
   
   
   
   
4. From Utilities Menu, select Named Expressions.
   
   
   
   
5. Select OP_SYMBOLOGY_PIPING and change the expression as shown in the image below.

6. Save the Expression and close the tab.
   
   
   
   
7. In Level Manager, create new levels as mentioned in the image below and define symbology for them.
   
   
   
   
8. From Element menu, select Element Templates and create new Template Group and new Templates as shown below.
   
   
   
   For On Hold
   
   
   
   FOR_DEMOLITION
   
    
   
   
9. Save Opmodeler.dgnlib file and close.
   
   
10. Launch OpenPlant Modeler, create a new piping model (DGN document).
    
    
11. Select place pipe tool.
    
    
    
    
12. In the tool settings, change the Component State to Design and place a pipe. It will appear according to the symbology defined in Level Manager.
