How to move a property from one category to other

Background

In the previous builds of OpenPlant Modeler (v8i), one had to set the position of the property using Bentley Class Editor and a complex process of customization.

In the newer builds (CONNECT Edition) one can define or modify the position of the property in the Element Info in the OpenPlant Project Administrator itself. This article contains steps to move a property (DRY_WEIGHT) from one category (General Info) to other (Design Values).

Steps to Accomplish

1. Launch OpenPlant Project Administrator CONNECT Edition.
   
   
   
   
   
2. Select the WorkSpace and WorkSet.
   
   
   
   
3. Navigate to the Settings tab and click on Property Display.
   
   
   
   
4. The Property Categorization dialog with open. Browse to Piping Component Class.
   
   
   
   
5. On the right side check for Dry Weight Property.
   
   
   
   
6. Select Dry Weight and click on Move Property to other category icon.
   
   
   
   
7. Select the Category as Design click OK and Save.
   
   
   
   
8. Dry Weight Property will move to Design Values.
   
   
   
   
9. Verify results.
