When placing any AutoPLANT component the error at_CADCurrObjectSet_addToDrawing appears in the AutoCAD command line and the component will not place.
Opening a new or an established model in AutoPLANT piping then placing any AutoPLANT component the error at_CADCurrObjectSet_addToDrawing appears in the AutoCAD command line and the component will not place. This error normally occurs after an AutoPLANT equipment model has been opened.
The specific issue is that the Equipment system.pref Draw_Mode variable in the config.ini file is blank. AutoPLANT Piping and Equipment share this variable to determine how 3D objects are to be displayed. When piping is opened it reads a blank Draw_Mode variable and it cannot allow the placement of any piping objects. The system.pref Draw_Mode variable must be set to an acceptable (not blank) equipment value.
The Draw_Mode variable in the projects Config.ini file can be accessed though Project Administrator. Use the following to set the Equipment Draw_Mode.
Once Draw Mode has been set to a non-blank value AutoPLANT Piping will allow the placement of new components.
Copy and paste the following command (including the brackets) into the AutoCAD command line. This will manually reset the DRAW_MODE variable to 3D for the opened document only.
(at_pipingsystem_setvariable "DRAW_MODE" "3D")
