How To Show Insulation In ISOGEN [TN]

Overview

To show Insulation in the Model and Isogen:

  1. Load Project Administrator and drill down to the Isogen section of the project in question.
  2. Under the INPUT section, hit the Edit button next to the Options Switches line.
  3. Once the Option Switches Editor is open go to page 3 of the ISO CONTENT tab.
  4. Set Option Switch 61 to the appropriate value to show Insulation next to pipe and components.
  5. Now open a model in AutoPLANT Piping.
  6. Go to the Piping ->Setup->Drawing Preferences pull down.
  7. Check the box entitled Show Insulation and Place the desired Insulation thickness in the appropriate field in the same dialog.
  8. Place components as desired.
  9. Load the Import/Export module and export the line to PCF and view the results
  10. Isogen will display Insulation the specified place within the Piping model.

NOTE: You can also elect to NOT show insulation in the model by leaving the Show Insulation box unchecked in step 7. The insulation will still be output to Isogen.

 

To show Insulation Symbols only in Isogen:

  1. Open the model in AutoPLANT Piping. 
  2. Go to the Piping -> Misc. Attachments pull down. 
  3.  When the AutoPLANT Selections dialog appears, select the Insulation Symbol option. 
  4.  Select the Pipe to add the Insulation Symbol to.

Note: The Pipe must have an Insulation Thickness assigned to it.

      5.      Isogen will display the Insulation Symbol on the iso for the specified component within the Piping model.
