Model stability or performance may be impacted when geometry is placed at large coordinates. Issues can occur but not limited to AutoPLANT; Piping, Equipment, Raceways, Structural, ProSteel, and Drawing Flattener.
Autodesk has acknowledged that this is an issue with AutoCAD; Autodesk Knowledge Base article; ID TS1059929. Since Bentley AutoPLANT software is developed on the AutoCAD platform, this observation carries over to the Bentley products as well. Bentley has no control over this issue until it is addressed by Autodesk and then only when the correct version of AutoCAD is support by the Bentley AutoPLANT software.
When AutoPLANT objects are placed beyond 100,000 units "the mathematical calculations are at risk to push beyond the processor limitation". Units with a precision of 0.000001 also risk hitting processor limitations.
To correct this problem, draw the model closer to the origin. The user can then conduct whatever secondary operations that are needed, including flattening the drawing. If specifications require that the model should be at an extreme distance from the origin, XREF the drawing into another at the appropriate coordinates.
