    Overview

AutoPLANT can set the default unit type, and precision for all new drawings created for a project. The unit type available can be set to any available type in AutoCAD and the precision can be set via project settings.

Units configuration is only changed on the local machine settings and changes to the imperial or metric units is general change to all projects. Please note that the units are defined when the drawing is created and when opened in the project. Any changes to the units in the drawing will be changed back to the project default when the drawing is opened again.

    Changing a Project's Unit Type

The available types are Scientific, Decimal, Engineering, Architectural, and Fractional. To change the default unit type:

    1. Open Project Administrator
    2. Go Edit>Units Configuration
    3. In the Units window select Imperial or Metric tab (depending on the project uses)
    4. Select lunits
    5. Then change the Value to 1,2,3,4 or 5 for a new unit type. Listed below is what the Unit Type value correlates to.
      1. 1=Scientific
      2. 2=Decimal
      3. 3=Engineering
      4. 4=Architectural
      5. 5=Fractional
    6.  Apply
    7. Close

    Changing a Project's Unit Precision

    3. In the Units window select Imperial or Metric tab (depending on the project uses)
    4. Select luprec
    5. For decimal, scientific and engineering units the precession can be set from 0 to 8 units of precision; i.e. 0 = 1, 1 = 1.0, 2 = 1.00 etc... For architectural and fractional units please see the following value to precession list.
      1. 0 = 1
      2. 1 = 1/2
      3. 2 = 1/4
      4. 3 = 1/8
      5. 4 = 1/16
      6. 5 = 1/32
      7. 6 = 1/64
