In OpenPlant Modeler CONNECT Edition, requirement is how to define custom locations for WorkFiles.

Background

In OpenPlant Modeler CONNECT Edition, by default model location is defined under workset. Here, requirement is to define custom location for models so that user can define/place model files directly from desired location.

Steps to Accomplish

1. From windows explorer, navigate (browse) to OpenPlant.cfg file of respective workset. In this case, OpenPlantMetric workset is taken as an example.
2. OpenPlant.cfg file of respective workset can be found from below mentioned location as shown below.
   
   
   
   
3. Using text editor, open OpenPlant.cfg.
4. Search for MS_DEF variable & comment out this variable. Also, comment out the %lock MS DEF as shown below
   
   
   
   
5. Save all the changes.
6. Navigate to Modeler.cfg file of respective workset. In this case we have considered OpenPlantMetric workset. Refer path below.
   
   
   
   
7. Using text editor, open Modeler.cfg.
8. Search for MS_DEF variable & enter the desired folder location to point model files. Refer image below.
   
   
   
   
9. Save all the changes.
10. Launch OpenPlant Modeler CONNECT Edition & from backstage window click on new file to verify the requirement.
    
    
    
    
11. Similarly, click on Browse to verify the fix.
    
    Please note: If you are facing issue for Browse option, please create a new file to custom defined location & open it in OpenPlant Modeler CONNECT Edition.
