How to create or copy a BRCM project WorkSet

Product(s): Bentley Raceway and Cable Management CONNECT
      Version(s): 10.03.00.25
      Environment: N\A
      Area: Project Setup
      Subarea: Project Manager

    Background

Creating a new project is best accomplished by copying an existing project WorkSet. This article describes the procedure for both creating a new project WorkSet and copying an existing project WorkSet. When first starting out in BRCM, it is appropriate to copy one of the sample projects from the installed software.

    Steps to Accomplish

    Creating/Copying the Project WorkSet

    1. Launch Bentley Raceway and Cable Management CONNECT Edition.

    2. When the Work Page appears, select an existing WorkSpace by selecting the drop-down menu and select existing WorkSet by selecting the drop-down menu.

    3. On the Work Page, Click Browse and select a DGN file in the given WorkSpace & WorkSet folder. In the case of a sample project, any DGN file should be appropriate. A DGN file should be registered to the project if it is to contain BRCM objects like raceway, equipment, or 2D extractions and Click Open.

    4. From the Manage Tab, select Project Manager.

    5. Project Manager dialog box will appear. Right-click anywhere on the left-hand pane of the Project Manager dialog and select Copy Project. The resulting Copy Project dialog will look very similar to Project Manager.

    6. Click the row for BRCM_DB_ID in the left pane. In the right pane, specify a value in the Value field that follows the Rules for Regular Identifiers. (For Example: Imperial_Test)

    7. Click the row for BRCM_ PROJECTNAME in the left pane. In the right pane, specify the desired folder name for the project the Value field (For Example: Imperial_Test) and Click OK.

    8. The software will display "The new project has been created. Restart Bentley Raceway and Cable Management and select the project." Click OK.

    9. Click OK on the Project Manager dialog and Close BRCM.

    10. By looking at the WorkSet folder by the file manager, there will be the Project Name folder with its config. file.

    11. Open BRCM again and select the project WorkSet that was created.

    12. Click on New File to create New DGN in it.

    13. Specify the File Name and Click Save.

    14. The specified file name DGN will open.

    15. Verify the result that all the files are created, Dgn folder is created, rcmProject.xml is also created in the Dgn folder and the BRCM.cfg file in the Standard folder as well.
