In Modelling, centerlines from AutoPLANT Modeler could be required to be imported in STAAD Pro for further processing or for reference purpose. In order to achieve this, we can follow this article that briefs us about the procedure.
1. Launch a file AutoPLANT Modeler using the Document Manager. 2. In the Model file, Create the Centerline by using any of the modes. 3. Once drawing of centerlines is completed.
4. In the Command line, type “DXFOUT”. And hit “Enter”. The “DXFOUT” is an AutoCAD export command that converts the objects present in the model file into a DXF file that retains the physical attributes of the selected objects.
5. The file will be saved on the Location as specified by the user.
6. Now launch STAAD Pro application and Go to File > Import. 7. Select the DXF file that we have recently created for our centerlines and click on “OK”. Once imported the application asks us to define the “Structural Convention”
We will now be able to view and refer the Centerlines of AutoPLANT Modeler in the STAAD Pro Application.
