In some rare occasions, such as after a workstation power failure or an application crash, BRCM can refuse to start up correctly, either crashing or showing an error on file. In these cases, resetting BRCM application to its factory defaults can resolve the issue.
Reason:The items could be off screen or there could be corruption in user preferences files.
Option 1: From Window’s Run or Search Command
1. Close Bentley Raceway and Cable Management Application.
2. From Windows "Start" Button, select or search "Run" and hit Enter.3. On the Run dialog, Click Browse and select BRCM.exe from the location “C:\Program Files\Bentley\Bentley Raceway and Cable Management CONNECT Edition\BRCM”
4. Place a Space after the …\BRCM.exe” and type -restoredefaults and Click OK.
5. A Command window will open displaying the details of the operation:
Deleted C:\Users\[Current user folder]\AppData\Local\Bentley\BRCM\10.0.0Deleted C:\ProgramData\Bentley\BRCM\10.0.0 Deleted C:\Users\[ Current user folder]\AppData\Local\Temp\Bentley\BRCM\10.0.0Deleted C:\Users\[ Current user folder]\AppData\Roaming\Bentley\BRCM
Defaults restored. Press any key to exit.
6.Press any key to Exit.
Option 2: As a command line switch within the application Shortcut
1. Right click on the BRCM shortcut icon and choose Properties.
2. Go to the Shortcut Tab and Place -restoredefaults as shown in below screenshot (note the space between the end quotes and -restoredefaults)
3. Press Apply and OK.
4.A Command window will open displaying the details of the operation:
