    To View the Contents of DGN File in BRCM Explorer after Referencing a DGN from OpenPlant Modeler

    Problem Description

    When a dgn from OpenPlant Modeler is attached as a reference on a BRCM dgn, the details of the drawing is not visible in Explorer.

    Steps to resolve

    1. Open a DGN from any workspace on BRCM CE Update 2.

    2. Attach the reference DGN from OpenPlant Modeler CE 2 as shown below.








    3. Open Explorer from Equipment and Cable toolbar.


    4. Select Items menu from the available dropdown menus.


    5. User will observe that the there are no details displayed in the Explorer.


    6. To turn on the display of details in Explorer, follow the steps given below.
      Open Settings and select Configuration, then click About Configuration for viewing current DGN file details.


    7. User need to check the Workspace configuration file for the Workspace on which the modeling is done. For example: BRCM Imperial Example.


    8. In the configuration file, Search OpenPlant standards and schemas for Workspace and Workset.
      Disable them by adding “#” as shown below.
      File location: C:\ProgramData\Bentley\BRCM CONNECT Edition\Configuration\Workspaces\BRCM Imperial Example\Worksets.




    9. Close the configuration file and launch BRCM. Now open the Project Explorer and look for details in Items.
