In OpenPlant Modeler CONNECT Edition, requirement is to modify the existing annotation label.

Background

In OpenPlant Modeler CONNECT Edition, there are default annotation labels defined in ECAnnotation.cel file & details can be seen upon clicking on Models icon as shown below.

Below wiki article explain the customization to modify the existing annotation labels. In this article we will add another property to existing equipment annotation label.

Steps to Accomplish

1. Launch OpenPlant Modeler CONNECT Edition in your desired workset, here OpenPlantMetric workset.
2. From backstage window, navigate to below mentioned location & open ECAnnotation.cel file as shown below
   
   
   
   
3. From Piping group, click on Model. Double click on EQUIPMENT_TAG to load it. Refer image below
   
   
   
   
4. To view window, we can see property that is added for this annotation label as shown below.
   
   
   
   
5. Double click on the Name, this will pop up Text Editor window.
6. Select on Insert Favorite & click on Manage. Refer sequential steps in below image as shown below.
   
   
   
   
7. From Text Favorite Manager, expand ECAnnotation.cel folder & select Sample.
   
   

8. Under Text Favorite Manager, click on editable window.
9. Add hypen, select Field Type as OpenPlant & Field Sub Type as Equipment
10. Select desired property from the list. Once done, click on Accept. Refer sequential steps as shown below.
    
    
    
    
11. To field we can see that selected property has been updated. Click on Save, refer image below.
    
    
    
    
12. Close Text Favorite Manager.
13. From Text Editor window, click on Insert Favorite & select Sample.
    
    
    
    
14. Notice that as Sample is selected, annotation property gets updated to editable dialog & same text can be attached to mouse cursor. Refer image below.
    
    
    
    
15. In view, place the text at origin, refer image below.

16. Save all the changes & switch to model file.
17. To a placed equipment, select Place Label tool & select EQUIPMENT TAG to see the desired result.
