How to Setup the Duct Bank Configuration in Bentley Raceway and Cable Management

Product(s): Bentley Raceway and Cable Management
      Version(s): CONNECT Edition (10.04.00.31)
      Environment: N/A
      Area: N/A
      Subarea: N/A

    Background

If you spend a lot of time setting up a configuration of conduits to route through a duct bank and want to reuse that same design on future projects, then you can take advantage of duct bank configurations in Bentley Raceway and Cable Management.

The Duct Bank configuration section of the Duct Bank Routing Tool allows you to configure spacers and conduit using the Spacer Configuration Tool. You can save a commonly used configuration so that you can reuse it again in the future. This can save you design time on future projects.

    Steps to Accomplish

    1. Launch Bentley Raceway & Cable Management.
Select a WorkSpace , WorkSet and open a Raceway drawing file.

    2. Select the Underground System ribbon tab and select Duct Bank Router tool from the Duct Bank ribbon group.

    3. The Duct Bank Routing Tool / Start dialog will open.
Select the Duct Bank Configuration settings tab.

    4. From the Duct Bank Configuration settings, you can setup spacers configuration or select the conduit layout only.

Note: Setup Spacers Configuration- Through this selection, spacers properties can also be configured according to the design requirements.

    5. Now, select Setup Spacers Configuration.
The Spacer Configuration Tool will get open.

    6. Select Spacer configuration and select Setup grid.

    7. From the Setup Grid dialog, the number of rows and columns can be assigned along with the starting row and column designator.

    8. You can edit certain spacer properties including the Manufacturer and Type.
Press OK to return to the Duct Bank Routing Tool / Start dialog.

Note: Spacer sizes cannot be edited from this dialog.

    9. You can select the Conduit settings that you require such as the Catalog, size, and voltage level from the Properties and save the Configuration for future usage.

    10. You can select the Setup Conduit Layout Only, when the duct bank routes do not require spacers in the design.

    11. A Setup Grid dialog will open, and you can configure the values for the Parameter.
    12. You can also save this Configuration for future use.

    13. The saved configuration can be selected from the Configuration drop down list under Duct Bank Configuration.
You can also Preview or Delete the selected configuration form the list.
