How to Generate Continuous Welds Throughout the Isosheet

Background

In OpenPlant Isometrics Manager, for CONNECT Edition version new configuration has been added in Isometrics Configuration dialog which shall control drawing labels such as Pipe Cut ID, Part ID’s, Weld ID’s Spool ID’s, Unique ID’s.

          

Below steps illustrate the use of Weld ID’s with OpenPlant Modeler covering both the cases continuation weld id generation and starting with new weld ID.

To Note - Option mentioned in dialog shown above would only work when splitting shall be done via Isometrics Configuration dialog. This will not work when user split isometrics using Isometric Break Point through OpenPlant Modeler.

Steps to Accomplish

  1. To Configure changes for Isometric setting, launch OpenPlant Isometrics Manager.
  2. Select Workspace and Project respectively like shown in below image.



  3. Select OpenPlantMetric Project here and click on OK.
  4. Click on Styles option to launch Isometric Styles configuration dialog.



  5. Select Style as Stress here and click on Automatic Iso Splitting option provided here.



  6. Ensure Weld ID’s option is unchecked. By default, it is unchecked.
  7. From Sheet Settings option, User need to uncheck Do not Split option and select any one option for splitting. Say, Split on Component Count here and set the value as desired.



  8. Save dialog box.
  9. Launch OpenPlant Modeler.
  10. Select desired Workset, say OpenPlantMetric.
  11. Select any DGN file and select/Create a pipeline, say below arrangement.



  12. Click on Manage to launch Pipeline Manager. Select a pipeline.





  13. Click on Isosheet Manager. Select all component from Iso sheet Manager and click on Create New Isosheet.


  14. Notice, one Isosheet gets generated.



  15. Generate iso. Notice in Isoextractor 2 sheet gets created.



  16. Verify Weld ID’s in Iso 1 of 2.



  17. Verify Weld ID’s in Iso 2 of 2. Notice Weld ID is in continuation with first sheet.
