How to check Routing Connectivity between two raceways in Bentley Raceway and Cable Management.

Product(s): Bentley Raceway and Cable Management
    Version(s): Through 10.00.00.127
    Environment: N/A
    Area: Raceway Design Tools
    Subarea: Check Routing Connectivity

    Background

Bentley Raceway and Cable Management provides an ability to check the routing connectivity between two raceway systems.
This feature is helpful while performing the cable routing. In some cases, cable cannot be routed correctly or does not follow the desired path because there is no connectivity between the raceways. Cable fails to route even though there is raceway path defined for the cable but as there is no connection between the raceways cable routing fails.
The routing connectivity can be checked by using Check Routing Connectivity tool available in Bentley Raceway and Cable Management. For checking the connectivity in raceway systems assigned to different voltage levels , the tools has an option to filter out the raceway systems according to the assigned voltage level. If there is a connection found between the raceways then the details are highlighted by red routing line, and if no connection found then a message ‘No Connectivity Exists’ is displayed.

    Steps To Accomplish-

    1. Launch the application and open Raceway DGN file.

2.The ‘Check Routing Connectivity’ tool can be accessed from the Raceway tab.

It can also be accessed from Manage tab.

3.Click On Check Routing Connectivity , a dialog box is displayed to select the routing filter based on the assigned voltage levels to raceways. If multiple raceways are assigned to different voltage levels , by selecting the routing filter for a particular voltage level, the raceways assigned to the selected voltage level will only be displayed.

4.Select CTRL as the voltage level , and after placing a datapoint only raceways having CTRL as the voltage level will be displayed. Select the raceways between whom the connectivity is to be checked. As seen in the information at the bottom, source and target raceways needs to be selected.

Select the source raceway routing line.

Select the target raceway routing line.

5.After selection if there is connectivity between the raceways , a dialog prompt will be displayed ‘Connection found. View Details?’ .
Click Yes to see the connection between the raceways gets highlighted in red.

6.In some cases , the raceways might not be connected as they might not be snapped correctly.
In such cases if there is no connectivity found , a dialog prompt is displayed ‘Sorry, no routing connectivity exists.’
