How to Import Cable Voltage levels into Bentley Raceway and Cable Managment

Product(s): Bentley Raceway & Cable Management
      Version(s): CONNECT Edition (10.04.00.31)
      Environment: N/A
Area: User Defined Attributes (UDA) Settings
      Subarea: Cable Data
      Original Author: Aadarsh Tale

    Background

If you need specific voltage values in addition with the default voltage levels for your project, you can easily import the desired voltage levels.

The voltage levels can be added into your cable type list Excel file and it can be imported to reduce manual entry and eliminate potential typos.

    Steps to Accomplish

    1. Launch Bentley Raceway and Cable Management.
Select a WorkSpace and WorkSet and open a Raceway design file.

    2. Select the Options tool from the Manage ribbon tab and the Project Setup ribbon group.

    3. Select the Cable Data tab and then select the Cable Voltage Levels tab.

    4. Click Browse in the Cable list XLS file field to select a Cable type XLS file.

    5. Open the project subfolder where you have stored the Excel file with the voltage levels.
      For example: CableList_Voltagelevel.xls.
      Click Open.

Note: When a cable list is to be imported there must always be one property that determines the related voltage level, here for example: Column ‘F’ category.

    6. Click Browse in the Cable list XML file field to select a cable type list XML file.

    7. Open the file XML import file for the cable type list.
In the below image, you can see how the column with the voltage levels is being mapped.

    8. You can enter the Start row and End row values to import voltage levels from the excel sheet and click Load.

    9. The imported voltage levels will get populated in the New Voltage Level field.
Select all the new voltage levels and click Import, to move them to the Name field.
      Example: 230V and 400V.

    10. Click Apply to save the imported data and then click OK to close the Options tool dialog.
