Problem Description

Sometimes user receives an exception error while adding materials in Structural Modeling Component for Europe and Australia region.

 Error Snap

Reason

In OpenPlant Modeler CONNECT Edition, Invalid Expression present in Design Strength (Fy) and Ultimate Stress (Fu) while adding materials

Steps to Resolve

1. Launch OpenPlant Modeler Connect Edition and Create a new file.
   
   
   
   
2. Click on Structural Tab and select Material Manager which will open a window to add material.
   
   
   
   
   
3. In Material Manager dialog, Click on Add Material which will open Material Editor, select all the field as below and hit Query to show all the materials in editor.
   
   
   
   
4. Select the Steel Material For E.g.  S235, Once Material is selected then we will see some attribute as below and Notice we have an expression in Design Strength (Fy) and Ultimate Stress (Fu) Field.
   
   
   
   
5. Edit the fields for Fy and Fu and keep the Numerical Values instead of having an expression.
   
   
   
   
6. Verify results and add material by changing expression.
