How to Include Raceway Accessories in the BOQ Report

Product(s): Bentley Raceway & Cable Management
      Version(s): CONNECT Edition
      Environment: N/A
      Area: Output Manager
      Subarea: Raceway Accessories
      Orignal Author: Vikrant Kale

    Background

Raceway accessories are an essential part of the raceway systems, this can include Nut, Bolt, Splice plate, etc.

Including the raceway accessories in the Bill of Quantities (BOQ) reports with its product code and the quantities can be very useful while analyzing the project deliverables.

Bentley Raceway and Cable Management have the ability to include these accessories in the BOQ reports. This can be possible by defining a User-defined Attribute (UDA) named ‘Accessories in BOQ’ to the raceway catalog.

This article will guide you on how to include these accessories in your BOQ and how to add/modify these accessories and their Product code (PCODE).

    Steps to Accomplish

    1. For some of the Raceway catalogs with the delivered dataset, you can see the UDA ‘Accessories in BOQ’ has already been defined.
Open the project DGN file and launch the Raceway Router. In the Raceway Routing tool/Start dialog select the desired Raceway Systems and Catalog.
Expand the UDAs option and in the available UDA, you can see the ‘Accessories in BOQ’ UDA. Select that UDA and in the drop-down menu you can see two options ‘yes’ and ‘no’.
Selecting Yes means the Accessories will be included in the BOQ reports and Selecting No will not include the accessories in the BOQ report.

    2. If this UDA is not available for your raceway catalog then you can add it using the Raceway Catalog Creation
In the Manage ribbon tab select the Raceway Catalog Creation tool and in the wizard click on the UDAs tab.

    3. Now Click on Modify UDAs of existing catalog this will open Raceway Property Manager that allows you to select the raceway system and the catalog. Select the desired catalog and click OK.

    4. Review the selection in the highlighted area below.
In the list of Available UDAs select Accessories in BOQ and click on the ‘>>’ button to add that UDA to Selected UDAs

    5. Now select the UDA and click on the blank pane of Possible values of selected UDA This will allows you to add the rows of values for UDA.
Add two values as shown below (Step 2) and click OK.

    6. Save the changes to the catalog file. These steps will create a UDA in the raceway catalog to turn on/off the feature to include the raceway accessories in the BOQ reports.

    7. If you need to modify/add the list of raceway accessories with the PCODE value then you can do it from the CAT_RacewayCatalogName_PCode_EN.xml file which is located at the raceway folder of the standard dataset.
      C:\ProgramData\Bentley\BRCM CONNECT Edition\Configuration\Workspaces\WorkSpaceName\Standards\BRCM\std_dataset\raceway

For the required fittings you need to add the accessories as follows:

    8. In this way, you can add/modify the accessories list for the raceway catalog.
Have a look at this sample BOQ report generated after including raceway accessories in BOQ.
