Since many OpenPlant users are using the PDx Manager tools to move their PDS data forward to be managed in OpenPlant, it is a fair assumption that some may want to instal OpenPlant on the same machine as existing PDS installations. However, there is a conflict. PDS installs a set of Environment Variables as listed below:
In particular, the MS_CONFIG variable will force Bentley products to load the CFG file installed with Microstation J. The product will return errors and be unable to load. There is a valid workaround to force the product to load the local workspace. There are two modifications in order to complete the workaround:
The first step is to modify the icon used to launch the product. Right click on the icon and go to properties. In the target field, append the string to include the following:
