In OpenPlant Modeler CONNECT Edition, the requirement is to change the precision level of Dimensions on components using Bentley Class Editor CONNECT Edition.

Background

Sometimes, according to project requirements, the precision level of dimensions is different.  It may vary from Project to Project or Component to Component in any Project. This wiki article explains the procedure of how we can change the Precision Level. We will take the LENGTH property as an example on the PIPE class and change the precision level to 4. By default, the level of precision is 2 as shown in the picture below

Steps to Accomplish

1. Launch Bentley Class Editor CONNECT Edition.
   
   
   
   
   
2. For the desired workset location, Select OpenPlant3D.01.08 schema & click on Open to load the schema. Supplement the loaded schema with OpenPlant_3D_Supplemental_ModelingViews schema.

3. From the Search tab, search for Pipe class as shown
   
   
   
   
   
4. Switch to Properties & search for Length Property as shown
   
   
   
   
5. To Add Custom Attribute, do Right-Click on Length Property as shown
   
   
   
   
6. Search for Format in Available Custom Attribute, change the location of Applied Attribute & Hit Ok as shown
   
   
   
   
7. By default, there are two Pounds (#) in the Format String as shown
   
   
   
   
8. To change precision level to 4, put Format String {0:0.####} as shown
   
   Note: # represents the number of digits after the decimal.
               For 1 Decimal > Put Single Pound #
               For 2 Decimal > Put Double Pound ##
               For 3 Decimal > Put Triple Pound ###
               For 4 Decimal > Put Four Pound ####
   
   
   
   
   
9. Save the changes in Schema as shown
   
   
   
   
10. To verify results, Launch Open Plant Modeler CONNECT Edition.
    
    
11. Place an arrangement & check the results as shown
    
    
    
    Notice that Precision Level is changed for Dimension of Length.
