How to Format Default Number Property in OpenPlant Modeler CONNECT Edition

In OpenPlant Modeler CONNECT Edition, requirement is to format Number property so that desired number format can be set by default.

Background

In OpenPlant Modeler CONNECT Edition, upon placing tagged component like equipment, valves, it show number format to four digits by default. Refer image below

In this wiki article, we will explore about schema customization that will allow to set number format to desired digits by default.

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Launch Bentley Class Edition CONNECT Edition.



  2. Load OpenPlant.01.08.ecschema of your desired workset.
  3. Supplement with OpenPlant_Supplemental_Tagging.01.08.ecschema.
  4. Search for DEVICE class.
  5. Notice the Business Key Numbering custom attribute & numbering format defined by default, refer image below.



  6. Count of pounds denote the format of number here. By default, it is showing as four. Due to this fact whenever we place tagged component, it shows number in four digits by default.
  7. Change the count of pounds as desired. In this example setting the count to three as shown below.



  8. Save all the schema changes & verify the result in OpenPlant Modeler as shown below.
