In OpenPlant Modeler CONNECT Edition, the requirement is to change the pipeline symbology according to service.
Background
In any plant project, to differentiate between different service & pipe is necessary. This can be done by applying different color coding to the components according to service. In this wiki article we will discuss with one simple example. Let’s say with following details create a pipeline & see the default color coding as shown
Notice the color-coding of the pipe which is green. We can change the coding by following the procedure below.
Steps to Accomplish
- Launch OpenPlant Modeler CONNECT Edition.
- From file > new, open the OPModeler.dgnlib file from the location as mentioned
C:\ProgramData\Bentley\OpenPlantCONNECTEdition\Configuration\Workspaces\OOB\WorkSets\OOB_WORKSET\Standards\OpenPlant\Modeler\Dgnlibs
- From the Primary tab, open level manager
- Click on OPModeler.dgnlib & Add new Levels as PIPE LEVEL & CENTERLINE as shown
Note: To change color for the level, click on the color box, choose the desired color & hit Ok as shown
- From the extreme top left corner, Change the workflow to Admin as shown
- From Admin > Home > Collections, select element templates as shown
- Right-click on piping node & create new template group as shown
- Name the template group as per requirement (here SERVICE_TEST)
Note: Template Group Name must be the same as the Service Name
- Add new templates as Model & CENTERLINE to a newly created group as shown
PIPE LEVEL
PIPE CENTERLINE
- From utilities , update the templates from library as shown
- From Home > Environment, click on named expressions as shown
- In named expression, search for OP_SYMBOLOGY_PIPING & enter the following expression as shown
"BY_TEMPLATE:OpenPlant\Piping\" & PIPELINE.SERVICE_NAME & ":Model"
- Similarly, change expression for OP_SYMBOLOGY_PIPING_CENTERLINE as
"BY_TEMPLATE:OpenPlant\Piping\" & PIPELINE.SERVICE_NAME & ":Centerline"
- Save the settings as shown in the above image (pointer-3).
- Switch to the piping model to verify the results.
- Place a pipe & verify the results as shown
Notice that, for the same service i.e SERVICE_TEST, the color-coding is now gets changed compared to default coding shown in snap-1.
