How to review catalog records for OPSE using third party DB applications.

Background

If OPSE database needs to be reviewed or updated one can view or modify the records as well as provide settings in the Project Dashboard within OpenPlant Modeler or OpenPlant Support Engineering applications.

However, one can also modify the records using a third party application without launching OpenPlant Modeler. This wiki contains the procedure to download and use these third party applications.

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Download DB Browser for SQL Lite application from the website mentioned below.

    https://sqlitebrowser.org/

  2. Download the latest build and install.

  3. Once installed the DB Browser application will look like below.

  4. Now click on Open Database to load the database.

  5. Navigate to the directory where the OPSE database is situated.

    $(OPENPLANT_WORKSET_STANDARDS)OpenPlant/Applicationdb/OPSEImperial.db

  6. Once the database is loaded its structure (schema) can be reviewed in the first tab.

  7. Change the tab to Browse Data.

  8. This allows us to select the table and browse the records.
