While using any tools in Bentley Raceway and Cable Management in a design file whose content is not registered , a message “The command is not available in this design file” is displayed and the tools cannot be accessed. The reason that the message is displayed because , the tool that was selected is not compatible with the Content type of the design file that is opened. For example, using Raceway design tools in an "Equipment" type file will result in the message or using Raceway or Equipment tools in “Routing” type file. The following points should be noted while registering a design file- I. Most tools in the BRCM Conceptual Design task must be used in a "Conceptual Design" Content design file. II. Most tools in the BRCM Detail Design task must be used in a “Detailed Design” Content design file. III. The Raceway Routing tools ,Trench Routing tools , Duct Bank Routing tools should be used in a design file having content type as “ 3D Model Raceway “ or “3D Model Equipment*Raceway. IV.The Equipment related tools like Equipment Manager, Equipment Import should be used in a design file having content type as “3D Model Equipment” or “3D Model Equipment*Raceway. V.The Cable Routing tool-Cable Manager should be used in a design file having content type as “Routing Model”. VI.The 2D Extraction related tools should be used in a design file having content type as “2D Extraction”. VII.The Cable list import and iModel import tools should be used in a design file that has a content type as “3D Model Equipment” or “3D Model Equipment*Raceway.
1.Create a new Design file in a WorkSet.2.After the design file gets opened , If any tools on the ribbon menu is clicked , a dialog is displayed to Register the Design file. 3. Select the desired content of the design file. Click Yes and the design file will be registered according to the selected content. 4.The content type of the design file can also be viewed by using Document Manager tool. The Document Manager can be used to view the content of a currently opened design file whose content is already registered. It can be accessed from Manage tab>>Document Manager.5. In the Document Manager , the content type of the opened DGN file can be known and can be changed.
