Background
In OpenPlant Modeler CE, the requirement is to create Pipe with flanged ends & how to place trimmed elbows if the end conditions are flanged. Initially, having the ends flanged, we can only place the 90 degree & 45-degree elbows as shown
Steps to Accomplish
>> How to create flanged ends?
- Open the spec database for the desired workspace/workset from the below-mentioned path
C:\ProgramData\Bentley\OpenPlant CONNECT Edition\Configuration\Workspaces\WORKSPACE_NAME\WorkSets\WORKSET_NAME\Standards\OpenPlant\Specs
- Open the desired spec, let’s take mEX-OPM spec as an example.
- For an example let’s filter the pipe of 100mm, copy the previous record, paste it below & fill the records as shown
END_COND_1 – FL
END_COND_2 – FL
FLNG_OD_M – 220
FLNG_OD_R – 220
FLNG_TH_M – 12
FLNG_TH_R – 12
FACING_1 – RF
FACING_2 – RF
- Save the spec & launch OpenPlant Modeler CONNECT Edition. From standard preferences, reload the specs as shown
- Now place the pipe 100 mm of mEX-OPM spec
Notice that pipe is placed having flanged ends with 90 & 45-degree elbow.
>> How to place trimmed elbows with flanged ends?
- Launch Bentley Class Editor CONNECT Edition.
- For desired workset location, Select 01.08 schema & click on Open to load the schema. Supplement the loaded schema with OpenPlant_3D_Supplemental_Modeling.01.08.ecschema.
Refer to the attached Wiki link to know, How to Load & Supplement Schema in Bentley Class Editor. Link >>
- From search button, search for Pipe Elbow Trimmed as shown
- In custom attribute, OpenPlant_Physical_AdditionalQuery, add the clause-4 as shown below
- Save the schema changes as shown
- Relaunch the OpenPlant Modeler application & verify results.
- Now place the pipe with 90 degree, 45 degree & trimmed elbows as shown
