How To Enable Level Gauge class as Custom Component .

Background

As per project requirement custom components are required which are not available in library by default. Modeler have the flexibility to use existing class and define it for custom component. In OpenPlant Modeler use existing class for custom component can be done by adding custom attribute “Use Class as Custom Components” under OpenPlant_3D_Supplemental_Modeling.

Below steps will illustrate one if the existing class use and to enable it to show in drop down list under custom piping component builder dialog box.

Steps to Accomplish

  1. In Class Editor, Open 01.08 Schema from 'C:\ProgramData\Bentley\OpenPlant CONNECT Edition\Configuration\WorkSpaces\WorkSpace\WorkSets\OpenPlantMetric\Standards\OpenPlant\Schemas\.


  2. Supplement it with OpenPlant_3D_Supplemental_Modeling schema see the image below for path and the schema to open as highlighted.



  3. Click on Search icon and navigate to desired class, say LEVEL GAUGE here.



  4. Right click on this class and click on add/Remove custom attribute.



  5. Select the custom attribute as shown below and change the schema to supplemental Model schema and set the attribute to TRUE as shown below.





  6. Save the schema and Launch OpenPlant Modeler.


  7. Change the WORKFLOW to Modeling and click on Solids and create a desired graphic as shown below (illustrated model).



  8. Click on Custom in Piping galleries and click on Create New Custom Component.



  9. Select the graphic and from Custom Piping Component Builder dialog, select LEVEL_GAUGE as component type.



  10. Now define the origin and connect points and click on Create Component and check the LEVEL GAUGE displayed. 




    NOTE : If there is any class which needs to be added and use class as custom component needs to enabled from below table in OpenPlant Modeler.
